Streets, run-down backyards, tram tracks, paving stones or building-site barriers: Ingo Giezendanner, a 25-year old artist who lives in Zurich, is interested in anonymous unspectacular places. His drawings of urban areas around Zurich are mostly deserted and therefore seem anonymous. Yet Giezendanner only focuses on places he is familiar with, particular scenes which fascinate him and which he captures on site in pen and ink. The drawings can be understood not only as representations of reality, but also as images of our time, so to speak.
