Kunstmuseum

The last solo exhibition of the internationally reputed Swiss artist Renée Levi took place in 2000 in the “Musée d’art moderne et contemporain” (MAMCO) in Geneva. She will conceive new works and will stage the existing groups of work especially for the Kunstmuseum Thun premises. The artist subtly acts with installed colour and light compositions and thereby develops new standards in the perception of space and location. Levi plans large-scale installation works by which the spectators can experience her precise use of light, colour and space. The museum rooms of the former Grand Hotel will be the setting for a communication between the abstract and powerful pictorial language on one side, and the existing architecture on the other.

A catalogue with texts (g/e) by Dominique Abensour (curator, Paris), Helen Hirsch (Director Kunstmuseum Thun), Lyle Rexer (art critic and curator, New York) and Prof. Dr. Philip Ursprung (University of Zurich) is published by Christoph Merian Verlag. Supported by Binding Sélection d'Artistes. ISBN 978-3-85616-401-0
