Saskia Edens (*1975) combines painting, photography and video in her “Portrait anachronique” and makes their various features distinct. The “outmoded portrait” is displayed in the form of a photograph of the painter and photographer Albert Höflinger (1855-1936) amidst the portrait paintings in his studio. On it, Saskia Edens projects a video portrait of a woman with earrings made of ice. The temporal dimension is present in the video portrait only by the visible melting of the ice amidst the frozen historical moment of the photography.
