Kunstmuseum

With the main exhibition Susan Hefuna – Bharti Kher – Fred Tomaselli: Between the Worlds, Kunstmuseum Thun combines the works of three artists who draw repeatedly on cultural, traditional or religious references in their works. Susan Hefuna, Bharti Kher, as well as Fred Tomaselli play with charged materials and codes that they arrange to form engaging structures and patterns in the picture and in this way transfer them to new contexts. The moment of transition, the switching between this world and the other world, the internal and the external, the local and the global, play a major role. By the use of techniques such as carving, gluing or weaving, the three artists also reflect on questions about the relationship between art and craft.

Kunstmuseum Thun is the first Swiss institution to exhibit large groups of work of the three internationally recognised artists.
