The young Zurich artist Tom Huber (*1976) brings together the most varied of elements in his works. With a telling wink, he combines photographs, matchstick men and texts that often sound like dairy entries. The aesthetic of the photographs is wide-ranging, from ostensibly accidentally-found absurd scenes of everyday life to playful photos of animals to landscape images bathed in a kitschy light. Combining, over-drawing or collage further underscore the absurd element frequently already present in the images – reality and dream commingle.
